Miss India Worldwide Pageant

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:  Any woman of Indian origin (regardless of her place of birth) between the ages of 17 and 27 inclusive (on December 31st of the year she participates), never married and never having had a child, is eligible to participate.  The delegate must be a resident, citizen or born in the country she will be representing. Appropriate documentation regarding the age and residency status of the delegate must be submitted in order to meet the eligibility requirements.

2. DELEGATE REGULATIONS:  The delegates must behave in a manner befitting the title of Miss India Worldwide.  The IFC is not responsible for the delegate or any of her personal belongings.  The IFC is only responsible for the lodging and boarding of the delegate.

3. NATIONAL CONTESTS: Each year the IFC selects reputable individuals and organizations to hold various national contests.  The IFC has the exclusive right to select the countries and the National Directors that are authorized to conduct the national contests.  When a National Director has been selected, said Director is responsible for the judging of the national contest, in accordance with these rules and regulations.  The National Director is responsible for the selection of the National Winner and the awarding of all prizes to the National Winner.  The IFC is not responsible for the conduct, judging or awarding of prizes by the National Director.  The National Director must provide the IFC with a list of all contestants in its region and must certify the National Winner that it is sending to the Miss India Worldwide Pageant.  The National Director will also provide the IFC with the appropriate release documentation which has been signed by the National Winner.  In addition, the National Director will invite a representative from IFC to attend the National Pageant as an observer/judge.  The IFC can select a contestant-at-large to represent a country where there is no national pageant.

4. MISS INDIA WORLDWIDE PAGEANT:  National Winners who are selected for the Miss India Worldwide will be judged in the following categories: (A) INDIAN DRESS (B) EVENING GOWN (C) TALENT AND (D) QUESTION AND ANSWER.  Since Miss India Worldwide is a conservative pageant, proper attire for all segments is mandatory.  No indecent attire will be permitted.  The IFC, in its sole discretion, retains the right to alter the format of the pageant.  Currently, the format involves pre-judging of talent.  The contestant’s scores in the pre-judged talent segment are combined with her scores in the Indian and Evening Wear segment on the day of the function to determine eligibility for top ten.  Only the top ten contestants will perform their talent on the day of the function.  The top five scorers out of these top ten contestants will graduate to the Question-and-Answer round.  Upon the completion of the Question-and-Answer round, a winner will be determined.

5. TIME CONSTRAINTS: Due to time constraints, each delegate will only be allowed 3 minutes for the talent category (NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE ALLOWED TO THIS RULE).  The delegates must notify the IFC of any special technical need at least two weeks prior to the pageant.  THE DELEGATE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAVE ANY ON-STAGE ACCOMPANIMENT DURING THE TALENT SEGMENT (I.E. MODELS, BACKUP SINGERS, ETC.)

6. JUDGES: Judges will be selected for the Miss India Worldwide by the IFC.  They will be eminent, respected members of the Indian, American and International Community.  The IFC reserves the right to appoint all such judges.  The National Directors will appoint their own judges.   THE DECISION OF THE JUDGES, ONCE TABULATED, IS FINAL.  THE IFC BEARS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES.

7. PRIZES:  Past Miss India Worldwide winners have received round-trip tickets from New York to India, an expense paid trip to South Africa to be a special guest for the Miss India South Africa Pageant plus various gifts (i.e., jewelry, watches, electronic items, gifts certificates, screen tests, picture portfolio, modeling scholarships and cash).  This year, IFC will award the winner with $2000.00 prize at the completion of her reign and $1000.00 to the first runner-up and $500.00 to the second runner-up.

The foregoing rules are subject to change by the IFC.  All decisions regarding the eligibility of the delegate and the conduct of the Miss India Worldwide, in general, are subject to the ultimate approval of the IFC.
